Maintaining Drupal eList & CiviCRM event list
November 11, 2008, 01:53:07 pm
My boss wants to keep his email list on Drupal (5.12) and a separate CiviCRM (2.0.6) events list. If we do this does that mean when the information changes on one list I will have to manually change the data on the other? For example if a Drupal member changes the email address on Drupal I will have to know this and manually change it on Civi? Or is there a way to have 2 list but linked?

Thanks!

In the current release (2.1) - when a Drupal user changes their email address (from "My Account") - CiviCRM will update the 'primary email address' for that user's contact record. (CiviCRM maintains a contact record linked to each Drupal user.)

I'm not sure how far back this particular behavior goes - so you should test it on your 2.0.6 install - or better yet consider upgrading to the latest stable version of CiviCRM (2.1).
