Households and Profiles in 2.1
November 13, 2008, 03:40:16 am
I went to edit an existing profile that uses Household data in my new 2.1 install.  Only the Household name field is available on the field menu after selecting Household.  Verified on the Joomla demo.  Couldn't verify on the Drupal demo as it's throwing a fatal error on launch at the moment...

Is this limiting household data on profiles a new approach or a bug?

Try selecting "Contacts" as your record type to see the rest of the fields. Fields that are used by any / all contact types are  categorized under "Contacts".

I'm noting that given your question, we might need to rethink the UI for this a bit :-( since it matches the data model but not necessarily user's expectations.

That makes sense!

Is there a way to display relationships, such as household members, in a profile?

no, but will make it an excellent community contribution/sponsorship. Note that this is a non-trivial feature to implement
