Optional donation?

Is there a way to setup an optional donation of any amount (text field) for an event's online registration?

Not sure. We provided a Price Field that was a checkbox with a range of amounts for donations. Might work for you.

Using price sets you have the option of a text field so yes, you should be able to. I had thought about implementing it but had concerns people wouldn't get receipts appropriate for tax deduction purposes.
