Creating new household address - feature loss from 2.0 to 2.1
November 18, 2008, 01:41:26 pm
Hi - in 2.0 if you had an existing contact with an address and wanted to turn their address in to a Household address, you selected 'Create New Household Address' and it automatically made use of the existing address details for that individual. Very useful.

In 2.1 when you need to create a new Household Address, you know type the name in to the selection box and select it. Whereupon it opens a new set of address fields, and the existing info disappears from view. Would be great if this could be fixed.

I am no sure if feature was lost or bug was fixed ? Since i assumed when you are creating something "New", form should be clean. But i do agree with your use case. Can you file an issue for this.

thanx

I think that we worked to get this feature added last time - namely you are starting with an individual with an address and then want to turn that address in to a Household address.
Ha -here is the original discussion http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,247.msg9805.html#msg9805

and Dave had an issue filed here - so hope it is okay to just reopen that one?? http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-2639 (well I think I did)
