Surveys And Forms Feature - Linking To User IDs
November 18, 2008, 05:59:47 pm
Hello,

Is there away to create surveys or questionnaires in CiviCRM and capture that data to be associated with the user ID?  The reason here is to filter users so sets of users can be sent newsletters based on standard data as well as survey responses.  Example:  newsletter sent to a set of users who live in CA and chose option D in survey 72.

This is similar to a feature in 1ShoppingCart.

Thanks,

E

Denver Dave

I've never actually used it for a live application, but I'm keeping my eye on www.LimeSurvey.org should a need arise. [sorry, I should have used the .org rather than the .com - modified]

You can create simple "surveys" by:
- creating a group of custom fields - Used For = Contacts, set "Searchable" for the fields you want to segment mailings by
- creating a Profile and putting those fields in the Profile

The "answers" will be tied to each contact's record and you can use Advanced Search to create Smart Groups and use those for mailings. Starting with the next release (2.2) - you can also trigger a broadcast mailing (e.g. CiviMail mailing) directly from Advanced Search.
