I had requests such as - 'Can we change the postcode to 1121 for all the found records quickly?' or 'Can we change the source of data for many records without editing each record'...

Looking at the request in its simplest form this could be achieved if on the second step of a 'Batch Update via Profile' action, when the Select Profile choice is made, there would be a check box that would say - 'Update all records to single value'.

If I'm understanding your requirement... this can be done pretty easily with existing 2.0 + functionality. When the Batch Update via Profile grid is displayed - there's a "Copy values" icon - clickable - at the top of each column. To set all values in the column to the same thing - enter the desired value in the first row and then click the icon.

I thought he was pointing to the idea of being able to do it to all search results rather than just the 100 that Batch Update by Profile permits.
