you don't have permission to access... after successful edit

I "configure event" (an existing event) and submit.  I get back an error "You don't have permission to access /drupal/civicrm/admin/event on this server."  The edits were successful, I am just left in an awkward place.  Any hints?

Check your webserver (Apache) logs. Also, a search on this forum of "permission to access" resulted in some possibly relevant posts.
