Edit event fees after registration
December 02, 2008, 09:34:24 am
Hi there,

In the documentation for 2.1 I found - http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRM/CiviEvent+-+Feature+Candidates

"Currently you cannot edit event fees if you record a contribution as part of the event registration process (backend). There needs to be a way to alter fees and handle the corresponding contribution record."

Does anyone know how I make changes to the backend to make this happen? I have registrants who need their fee information changed (post-registration).

Thanks,
Greg

Greg:

We don't allow edit of Event Fees, if you have done Online Event Registration only. This is done mainly because Participant has already made payment and is it also added as contribution record. To alter this you will have to manually go and edit database in couple of places. (I won't recommend that)

We are running into this same problem, but in our cause it is when a user registers and selects "The Pay later" Option and when they submitted the online registration, they had selected the wrong event level fee.

In our Case we had listed 4 options

Conf Day 1 Member Fee - $125.00
Conf Day 1 and Day 2 Member Fee - $250.00
Conf Day 1 Non-Member Fee $150.00
Conf Day 1 and Day 2 Member Fee - $300.00

We have had several people register online with the wrong Event Fee level, but then sent in the correct amount with a printed ouot copy of the Registration screen with the correct option highlighted. (Yes I know they have the review/confirmation page before they hit Continue).

We need to be able to change Event Fee Level for Pay Later transactions, because the Payment hasn't been recorded yet.

If a user makes a mistake on a Credit Card registration, we are deleting the registration and manually registering themonce we obtain their credit card information.

The Pay Later Option has a very high Frequency of occurrence.

What need's to be done to enable the editing of the Fee Level when the user has selected the Pay Later option?

Thanks!

Dallas :

You might want to some changes in the code to un-freeze the
event fees section in CRM/Event/Form/EventFees.php (buildQuickForm method)to achieve the same.
