Hi all, I need to register only the members of the CMS i.e., only the people who are registered with the cms can register for an event. Any ideas how to proceed. I am using joomla 1.5.x and CiviCRM 2.1.2. Please advice.

Thank you so much kurund, yup what you said was right. As I am new to civicrm am a bit confused with the CMS memberships and CiviCRM memberships I gotta work more on that. Actually i have a set of requirements and they are,

1. Only members can register. This can be achieved using menu access levels. But i need a set up where the event should be displayed (menu item) but when a non-member clicks the menu item he/she has to be redirected to the login page or some page which tells they need to register inorder to register for an event. This can be customized but can it be done using civicrm admin side.

2. Is it any way possible to assign a different rate for members and different rate for non-members. (here I mean both the CMS members as well as already registered event members)

As I said earlier I need a thorough understanding of CiviMEMBER. Will do some home work and get back.

P.S: I recorded a bug in Jira about the early / late registrations discounts. I am very happy to see the bug got fixed in the 2.1.2 version of CiviCRM. U guys a doing a wonderful job. I am getting interested in CiviCRM and hopefully contribute with some bug fixes soon. Keep up the good work.
