Alternate registration for speakers, other non-paying registrants?

Hi again:

We have online registration for a conference, and it doesn't allow for paying later.  Is there a good way to also have an alternate registration that we can use internally to sign up non-paying attendees like speakers, staff, etc.?  Having them registered like everyone else helps us keep an accurate headcount for lunch and helps us do nametags, sign-in sheets, etc.

You can use Offline Event Registration, for this. So create a contact then go to Contact Summary >> Events, New Event Registration.

One other somewhat related question - I saw on a help screen somewhere that I should be able to view a list of either registered participants or contacts, along with an indication of their registration status (registered or pending).  I can't seem to figure out how to do that.  Any ideas?

You get go to Manage events and then click on Participant link below Event Name, eg: http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/event/search?reset=1&force=1&event=1
