Unsubscribe Error Page
December 05, 2008, 10:30:36 pm
Hello.  So I am finally at a spot where I am ready to send out our first mass mailing on CiviMail and I run a test mailing.  After sending it to myself, I try and click on the provided links... using the unsubscribe, forward to a friend, and opt out options.

When I click on these links from my gmail window, a page pops up and this occurs with a little red icon.

Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.

There was an error in your request

Return to home page.

Does anyone know where I might begin to look for answers to this problem?  Could this be an access related issue?

Can you turn on Debugging for your site, and paste the backtrace here, also url that you are accessing.

i don't understand... so if it is working fine on your local install do you mean it OUGHT to be good when obviously everything is not working correctly.  Are you able to look at this further or should I assume it unfixable and uninstall the Drupal software?  Thanks for checking it out.

can you cut-n-paste the urls that you clicked on. Both the error messages indicate that the url verification step failed (there is a hash verification on the url)

in most cases like this, where we cannot reproduce on local install, it typically indicates a config or system issue

i was hoping that the url was malformed or something like that. unfortunately it was not :(

can you check your civicrm_mailing_event_queue table for id = 7. It should have a job_id of 4. Can you let us know the hash value in this record.

Also can you check if there is any db row with a hash value of: 6b5c279bb68f9ee5. If so, can you give the details

thanx

you might want to get some help locally (or from within your organization) from someone who is familiar and competent with php and mysql. That will help us figure out whats happening with your install

ok... after a long day of trying to figure this out, there are no records that show a value of '6b5c279bb68f9ee5'.  There is also no job id that equals 4.  i have one with the value of 1 and three with the value 3.

What should i do from here?

This is a bit wierd since we have not recd any bugs from other folks (and i do think that more than a few folks are using civimail)

your best bet might be to hire someone from the services listing (http://civicrm.org/professional/) to install and get it running for you. If you dont have the budget, you might want to recruit a volunteer with php/mysql experience

if you have ssh access, can you get on irc and ping me (dlobo). I can spend a few minutes and see if there are any obvious issues
