Membership enabled only showing renewal.
December 07, 2008, 08:33:33 pm
Hi. I am using Drupal 5.12 and Civicrm 2.0.7.

I am working on a membership signup form for Civicrm. I have selected "Membership Section Enabled" and have entered information in both the membership and renewal options. But the live page only shows the renewal section (I need both).

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,

Shrill

Shrill:

Not sure I understood your problem, Can you explain bit more. Give exact steps what you are trying to do?

It might also be possible that logged user already has membership record, hence it is showing "Membership and Renewal" ..

Yep I would suspect you are testing this as someone who already has a membership (so it knows you can only be rejoining)

try the URl from another browser and ensure you are not logged in

Aha: yes, this was the problem. thank you.

Okay, now a related question. In some cases, members will not have a username/login yet when they renew. Is there a way to show the renew form to members who aren't signed in yet? And maybe link it from the new member signup form?

Thanks,

Shrill

I dont' think you can do this. It will only show 'renew' if the system knows who the contact is.

We use checksums (search for this term) and email members. The checksum then takes them to the Renew Page and has their contact details in a profile ready for them to check and update. HTH
