Single-step Multi-Event Registration
December 10, 2008, 06:02:26 pm
For events which are relatively simple and don't need too much information from the registrant (other than name, contact info), it should be possible to select multiple such events and register for them simultaneously.

This saves the registrant from the trouble of having to re-enter the same information for each event.

Thanks!

Hey,

Can you elaborate more on your use case? How would you decide which events should be shown on the registration page? All the active events in the system?

Also, please consider investigating CiviCRM Profile's user account registration option, this might be useful in avoiding multiple data entry for each event registration.

Also, please consider contributing code/work/resources to get your requirements satisfied, if you decide you cannot go further with available options.

Thx,
m

I am working on using CiviCRM to implement race registration and event management for sailboat racing. It would be great if users could choose to register for a series, and then quickly select the events in the series that they will actually be able to attend. Perhaps events could use relationships to accomplish this. Here is a specific example: We have a summer-long Wednesday night race series, free to members of our club or other lake clubs, and $200 to non-members. Ideally, racers would register and pay (optionally) for the series, and then select the individual races they can attend.

Thanks,

jason

Any specific reason you dont want to store that information in a participant custom checkbox field. The person pay their fees and checks all the races they plan to attend, you can add custom validation via a hook

Lobo, thanks for the reply!

That's what I ended up doing. In doing it, I setup a custom data group, and a matching profile. In the data group, I really wish that I could choose to use it for only a certain event type (regatta) or a certain event type (regatta). Will that ever be an option, rather than just participant, or participant of a certain event?

Thanks,

jason

This is currently not on our short/medium term plans, but would definitely make a great community contribution. Wanna step up and do it?
