Hi!

I export through CiviCRM 900 contacts (individuals) in a CSV file that I want to import in other CiviCRM installation. Among many other fields in this file, I have 2  fields: group(s) and tag(s). Using the Import menu, I followed the first step, but during the second step (Matching CiviCRM fields) I could not find the group(s) and tag(s) fields in the CiviCRM field list.
I saw that in the third step, there's some options to include imported contacts to groups and tags, however the groups and tags of these contacts vary a lot for each one, making this option useless.
Did I miss something in this process?

BTW, I'm using Drupal 5.1, CiviCRM 1.7.9821.

So yes, import cannot consume the export output.

Enhancing import to also handle different groups/tags for different contacts is a good project. However the code there is quite gnarly that i'd be a bit wary of modifying it a lot (restructuring and simplifying it is a 2.x project)

Thanks anyway, Lobo... I'll try to do it by inserting directly in the DB.
