Access Control for CiviCRM menus or tabs - Joomla
December 16, 2008, 09:31:45 pm
Hi there,

Please give me a solution for this requirement in CiviCRM with Joomla.

There are Committee members(Some Level of Group members) who wish to allow view basic contact info, but not contribution info and Event Info.(i.e) One of our member can view all contacts and not access CiviContribute Tab and Event Tab.
Another group of member would have permission to access CiviContribe Tab and CiviEvent Tab. If there is any way to give permission, Roles for these types of CiviCRM menus or tab. Please let me know way to assign the permissions.

Regards,
Seetha

You cannot do the below with CiviCRM on joomla. Access control for CiviCRM under joomla is not yet complete.

You should be able to do a fair amount of the below with CiviCRM on Drupal or Standalone. Alternatively if you have development skills, you can help with the development and testing of access control in joomla (a lot of the code is already there and can be borrowed from standalone)
