Reports of Event Participants
December 17, 2008, 04:09:37 am
G'day there. I'm researching CiviCRM's capabilities, regarding making a new website for an NPO I work for. I'm wondering how difficult it would be to make a custom text based report of participants, contact details etc for a passenger manifest or similar. What i'd envision is a menu option in the back-end which goes to a list of events, with links for each events Manifest. This could be printed straight out from the browser rather than having to build the manifest by Ctrl+C, Ving from imported CSVs.

I'm only relatively new to Drupal and CiviCRM, but I'm thinking Views2 Integration is the best line to approach this from, using a CiviEvent view, and then someway to view participants from a specific event using a template page or something.

Is this sort of thing possible now, or should I be waiting for more CiviCRM elements to be integrated into Views2?

There is event integration with views2 (in 2.1.3). You will probably need to extend the code a bit to add links to the participant public listing pages (a CiviEvent feature). I suspect you have most of the pieces you need to build the below

Please share your work when completed (or in a sharable state)

Thank you, that sounds like the ticket. The one thing I can see myself needing to do down the track with the project though is having multiple listings accessible that use different templates and fields (we have multiple forms of manifest, once with next of kin + important medicals, a single page watch bill, single page dietary requirements, etc.) but I'll start with just playing around with this one page and go from there.

Hi,

Did you get anywhere with this. I'm beginning to look at reporting requirements across all of the Civicrm and wondered how far you got with what you were doing.

Thanks in advance

I decided to go the other more flexible way and improve views integration instead. My progress has been donated and is in the 2.2 alpha. You should be able to generate all sorts of reports (of contacts, events, contributions, participants and activities) and style it with the same level of flexibility that Views provides.
