to dupe or not to dupe
December 19, 2008, 03:51:04 am
In our database a small percentage of contacts are sharing an e-mail address (legitimately have the same address).

Lets say that most of the times we send mailings to individual contacts and we do intend to send two or more emails to a single address (addressing each contact with a name, etc..).
Other times we send a general information notices which is not personalized and for this we want to be sent to each address only once.

Could we have and option in CiviMail to choose if we want to send to each contact in a group or to unique e-mail addresses?
(In the later case selecting unique could be done in any consistent way; for example max ID e.g. last record; could even be any record)

Also, related to this - a nice feature would be to have a short report on number of addresses _and_ duplicate email addresses in the CiviMail wizard before actually sending an e-mail out.
