Notification to Honoree

Does CivicRM send an email to the honoree designated in a donation to let them know that a donation was made in their name?  If so, its not working for us - any ideas? If not, thoughts on how to make that happen?

No it does not. You'll need to extend the code to do so

In 2.1 the file to extend would be:

CRM/Contribute/BAO/Contribution.php, function createHonorContact

If you do make the change please post back the diff so other folks can potentially reuse it

Was this functionality ever updated into the core functions for CiviCRM? If a donation was made in honor/memory of, the person whose email is listed as the recipient should receive some kind of digital notification. Just curious if this was updated into the core functions and if not, if the place to extend that functionality still exists here:
