Instructions for Shared-hosting
December 22, 2008, 02:57:39 pm
I've just finished a several month process of getting civicrm installed on a shared host on ThinkHost.  There are a couple of procedures I used or learned about (removing files from the install package and FTPing them in place afterward and installing on a local host and transferring).  They are in the forums, but it would be helpful, I think, to have them as part of the instructions.  I could make a draft, but I'm not quite sure of the procedure for that sort of thing.

Also, what I've learned is that hosting civiCRM on shared hosting is much more difficult.  That was not clear to me in the beginning and I might have made decisions differently if it was noted in the civiCRM requirements.
Thanks to those who help create and enhance civiCRM!
