Hi,

I have a CiviContribute form for new member registration & renewal:

http://sca-roadside.org/sca/index.php?q=civicrm/contribute/transact&reset=1&id=1

As you can see, This form gives new registrants the OPTION to "Create new account"

However, having an account is part of the whole POINT of membership -- so, is it possible to REQUIRE that this be done?

This is now an option in 2.2, so you can set it to be required in the profile

For 2.1 and prior, you will need to edit th CMSUser.tpl and force the checkbox to be 1 (and hidden). You can get more details in the below forum topics:
