Custom menus
January 06, 2009, 07:32:34 am
Hi all, happy new year :-)

In the interests of usabliity, I'm making some custom menus for my users.

These menus are subsets of the main menu, with some of the items renamed - they are expandable.

I initally started using Drupal's menu functionality, but the autoexpand functionality didn't work ... then I thought I'd dive into the CiviCRM code, and found my way to CRM/Core/Block.php and then Menu.php ... then I saw the this post about the menu hook (http://civicrm.org/node/327) redesign in 2.1 and decided to take a step back :-)

The Drupal option seems simplest if I could work out why it isn't expanding.  And the hook_civicrm_xmlMenu seems like it could work but the documentation doesn't go into enough detail for me.  Can anyone point me in the best direction? (and if it's using hook_civicrm_xmlMenu, I'll add my example to the wiki)

Thanks a lot,
Michael
