CalHERS.org is using Civi
January 07, 2009, 07:06:05 pm
Hello everyone,

We started a 501 (c) 6 organization in November. We are a group of Home Energy Rating System (HERS) raters in California. We are independent 3rd party inspectors that verify energy efficiency measures in new construction as well as existing housing stock.

I am the administrator for CalHERS and working with civi has been a challenge. Especially trying to get civimail to work on a Bluehost account (and later with a uas.coop account). But the fact that I am not a programmer is testament to how well civi is put together in terms of documentation.

We will eventually figure out how to integrate civi 2.0.6 with joomla 1.0.1.5 but for now it just all works.

All in all civi has been a godsend and it's helped us automate membership applications through paypal and the event registration module worked like a charm for 70 users. This gives us professional results that gives potential members confidence in our efforts.

I'm looking forward to using all the features of civi in the coming year.

Cheers,

John Richau
