Multiple Subscriptions
January 11, 2009, 03:10:04 pm
Hi,

Is it possible to have civicrm have multiple subscriptions? e.g. they donate to A and then later they decide to donate to B also. Recurring payment either made as a total or both seperately?

If so, how does this work with drupal roles etc?

Thanks,
Paul.

yes, you can have multiple subscriptions in CiviCRM. they are distinct and treated seperately

subscriptions / contribitions dont interact directly with drupal roles. They can potentially interact via the civimember_roles module and how you configure that module (which is based on a contact having a current membership)

Thanks Lobo.

Can you confirm that during the time the 'subscriptions' are overlapping, they will not be combined for payment? Or can it be made that they get combined? If taking payments via paypal, they have a per transaction charge which would be annoying to pay twice for one customer!

Thanks,
Paul.

the two subscriptions are distinct and will not be combined. You should definitely test this condition in a test and live environment if you know it will happen. I  think combining the subscriptions is a non-trivial project

Understood. Thanks for the advice. Maybe later I will put together some money and offer it out.

Thanks,
Paul.
