couldn't find civicrm under components

Hi folks

When I installed civicrm 2.1 on godaddy on linux the component success message appeared but i couldn't find the civicrm under components menu in joomla. Can anyone help me?

Strange, bit strange things happens if you are on shared hosting. Can you try re-installing CiviCRM Component.

I have a similar problem - I installed with the directory method but did not get the success message - the browser just said Done - and no error message.  When I look at my file directory I can see the com_civicrm files under components but it doesn't show up in the Joomla backend anywhere.  Help!

GoDaddy hosting stinks. Very difficult to complete the installation.
The reason it's not showing up is because it didn't complete the installation script that inserts the civicrm menu records in com_components. Do a search of the forums. There's an sql script hanging around to let you do that manually if you want.
