Joomla to civiCRM menu parameters setting lost on 2.2
January 15, 2009, 06:55:53 am
Hi,

I've made the upgrade to the civiCRM 2.2 from 2.1.4 on Joomla 1.5.8 and sudenly I lost the Joomla menu parameters pane (right side of the admin where the admin is able to point to a civiCRM frront-end content - example a user details Edit form). The basic parameters tab simple got empty with no options.

Rolled back to civiCRM 2.1.4 and the parameters pane in Joomla admin got functioning again. Not sure if this is really a version bug or just that something went wrong. Unfortunately I currently have no time to test it further as the project is almost going live. So at this point I'm keeping on the civiCRM 2.1.4 stable version.

I wouldn't recommend alpha for live site.

No, in the Joomla Menu Admin, selecting a menu item to point to a civiCRM module, for example a user edit form, we have to enter the Parameters (Basic) on the upper left side pannel -

Choose CiviCRM task
Contribution or Event id
Profile id
Reset

These options simple didn't appear on 2.2 version. This specific Parameters (Basic) pannel was empty.

Hope I've answered your question...  ::)

i just tried it with my install of CiviCRM 2.2.x / Joomla 1.5 and it seemed to work fine

i dont think the code changed much in this area, so a bit surprised it does not work. hopefully we'll get other Joomla installation reports soon
