Fatal error when moving...
April 25, 2007, 03:23:03 pm
Has the following error something to do with defining the paths to the civicrm directory in files?

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'PHPgettext/streams.php' (include_path='.:/home/10010/public_html/modules/civicrm/:/home/10010/public_html/modules/civicrm//packages:.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/10010/domains/nbtg.nl/public_html/modules/civicrm/CRM/Core/I18n.php on line 32

Changing paths from '/home/10010/public_html/' to '/home/10010/domains/nbtg.nl/public_html' makes no difference.

Please help...

No, it shouldn't have anything in common with files directory path. Please verify that:
1. You have $civicrm_home properly set
2. In $civicrm home, there is a file: packages/PHPgettext/streams.php

Do you get this error immediately after enabling CiviCRM? What CMS are you running in (Jooma or Drupal) and which version of C? The error is specific to some code used by localisation mechanism in CiviCRM - are you running default English or did you switch the language?

Thx,
m

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'PHPgettext/streams.php' (include_path='.:/home/10010/public_html/modules/civicrm/:/home/10010/public_html/modules/civicrm//packages:.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/10010/domains/nbtg.nl/public_html/modules/civicrm/CRM/Core/I18n.php on line 32

This means your CiviCRM files are in /home/10010/domains/nbtg.nl/public_html/modules/civicrm/ and this is the path you should put in the $civicrm_root setting in civicrm.settings.php.

After changing that, if the error reappears, can you make sure there is a /home/10010/domains/nbtg.nl/public_html/modules/civicrm/packages/PHPgettext/streams.php file?

(Michał meant $civicrm_root here.)

I (think) solved my FTP problems and all files are now uploaded (PHPgettext was not on the server before). I changed the path too. But now I get a blank screen.

More info:
My Civi version is 1.6. It worked fine (with Drupal 5.1) on the old server. I used SQL version 5.0. Now at the new location the SQL version is 4.1, so I made a full database dump and uploaded it to the SQL 4.1 database.

What should I do?

There shouldn't be any database dump compatibility issues between 4.1 and 5.0, however I would play around with mysqldump's "--compatible" option.

Are PHP versions compatible as well?

Do you have access to your webserver's error log and can check what do they say?

I'll ask my provider.

My provider doesn't allow me to see the error logs.

So I decided to make a clean start. I loaded the provided 4.1 sql file and uploaded the data sql. I turned on CiviCRM in the modules page and it worked.

Now I want to insert the CiviCRM data from the old server and that didn't work so far.

I get a sql error:

SQL query:

--
-- Dumping data for table `civicrm_activity`
--
--
-- Dumping data for table `civicrm_activity_history`
--
--
-- Dumping data for table `civicrm_address`
--
REPLACE INTO `civicrm_address`
VALUES ( 1, 1, 'N 836A Second St SE', 836, 'A', 'N', 'Second', 'St', 'SE', NULL , 'C/o PO Plus', NULL , NULL , 'Fenton', 1, 1014, NULL , '50539', NULL , 1228, 1, 43.2252, - 94.4258, NULL , NULL ) ;

MySQL said: Documentation
#1216 - Cannot add or update a child row: a foreign key constraint fails

What can I do?

u can suppress foreign key checks at the top of the file, so use:

set foreign_key_checks=0;

sql dump

set foreign_key_checks=1;

This should enable u to upload the file. mysqldump typically does this, so not sure how you are transferring data from the old server to the new

With suppressing the foreign key file I was able to upload the file, but when turning on the CiviCRM module all I got was a blank screen.

I don't get it, do you have some other suggestions?

It's pretty hard to diagnose the problem without being able to see what's going on...

One more idea: after you get the blank screen caused by enabling civicrm, I assume you cannot access Drupal either. If so, please turn off CiviCRM by performing the following on Drupal's database:

update system set status = 0 where name = 'civicrm';

and see what Drupal's Recent log entries contain - perhaps we'll get a hint here.

Thx,
m
