specific contributions from specific types of individuals

I have tagged certain individuals as major donors, board, volunteers in Civicrm.  I would like to see in what format they contribute to us during a certain time of year.  However, in civicontribute, how can i pull up this group only and see their contributions only for that period.  For example,  I would like to see if my major donors group gave during Jan - Sept to any of our fundraising projects.

I guess developing Custom Search will be ideal solution for your needs. But since you are on v1.9, you will have to hack CiviCRM code for this. I would strongly recommend upgrading to current stable release.
