Moving CiviCRM to another host
January 22, 2009, 07:02:19 am
I'm moving a Drupal (5.10) site with CiviCRM (1.9) to another host. The only difference is that the new host has open_basedir restrictions.

That's why I get a blank screen after turning on the CiviCRM (1.9) module. In the watchdog log files this error occurs:
is_dir() [<a href='function.is-dir'>function.is-dir</a>]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/) is not within the allowed path(s): (/usr/share/php:/home/nbtg.nl/:/usr/share/pear:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/bin:/tmp:/etc/phpmyadmin:/usr/lib/php4:/usr/lib/php5:/opt/ioncube/lib) in /home/nbtg.nl/public_html/modules/civicrm/CRM/Utils/File.php op regel 109.

Is there an easy solution to this problem. I searched the forum but couldn't find one.
Changing the value for open_basedir in the .htaccess doesn't solve the problem.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Joris van Tilburg

We don’t really support installs on hosts with open_basedir enabled; that said, we believe there were people who side-stepped this issue – please look through these threads: http://forum.civicrm.org/?action=search2&search=open_basedir
If you found the above helpful, please consider helping us in return – you can even steer CiviCRM’s future and help us extend CiviCRM in ways useful to you.
