Is civicrm Drupal 6 ready?

After searching for quite sometime for an: event registration, online payment, and registrant management tool, I hope I have found it! But is civicrm ready for Drupal 6? A cursory run through the documentation says it's Drupal 5 ready, but I see Forum post about installs on Drupal 6.

My goal: I am setting up a website for a non-profit, volunteer run, youth soccer club with Drupal 6, and and just about ready to go live with that stage. Right now we are using a service (not very good one) to register and (barely) manage registrants (team formation, email notification, etc for about 1300 members). We are paying way to much for this service, and would rather channel that money back to club activities (mainly training costs).

If it's Drupal 6 ready I am ready to plunge in, see if it works for me and Donate!

CiviCRM 2.1 is drupal 6 ready (2.2 just released in alpha but is not ready for production sites). Make sure you download 2.1 and not an older version from download.civicrm.org
