Include some examples of views into CiviCRM distribution
January 24, 2009, 10:22:19 am
Sorry for multiple postings - I try to separate different things into different threads...

I think it would be useful for CiviCRM users if we could include some prepared views into CiviCRM distribution, like it is done with Organic Groups module for Drupal.

In this case, if Views 2 is present, install script for CiviCRM would add new views to the Views 2 administration page, so the site admin will be able to make new views based on working examples...

Or we can just create a page somewhere in wiki, post exported views there, and direct users to that page.

multiple postings the way you are doing it is good and the preferred way :) thanx :)

in response to your questions:

1. we dont mind including a set of default civicrm views in the distribution. Can you provide a patch that does so. Then file an issue and attach the patch :). I suspect your views2 expertise exceeds our limited knowledge :)

2. We can use the wiki to store a few other views that dont make it into the release
