Hi,
We are working out our Graduation Event, but ran into a scenario that I'm not sure how to handle.  Payment is only required if the person registering is not attending our conference or hasn't paid for the conference, however if they have paid for the conference (using a different event for the conference) then the Grad event is free. 
My question is since we have to make this a paid event (one fee = $$, one fee = 0$) when the person signing up qualifies for the free option, do they still need to enter the credit card information?  or does Civi recognize that a zero amount does not need to process a credit card?
I apologize for the newbie question, but would appreciate any help possible.

Donald speaks true.  We also have a free option that we use for speakers, staff, people who pre-pay by check, etc., and the $0.00 button just says "ADMINISTRATOR USE ONLY" next to it.  So far no one who should be paying has hit that button instead.
