Import pledge payments
January 25, 2009, 11:06:29 pm
In CiviCRM v2.2a3, when importing contributions, I get a "Multiple matching contact records detected for this row. The contribution was not imported" error for the second line in this file ...

Quote
Name      Email         Date      Amount   Non-deductible amount   Currency   Source   Status   Type      Instrument   Pledge
Ken West   ken@xxx.org.au   2009-01-26   100.00   100.00         AUD            Completed   Donation   EFT      Yes
Ken West   ken@xxx.org.au   2009-01-26   20.00      20.00            AUD            Completed   Event Fee   Credit Card      No

Note that the first line was imported fine. The only difference (apart from the amount and instrument) is the "Pledge Payment" flag.

Given that the two lines share the same email address, and the first contribution worked, and "Find Contact" returns only one match for this email, it's difficult to believe that the second failed because of multiple contacts.

When I repeat the import and ignore the "Pledge Payment" column, both lines give the "multiple matches" error!

When I repeat this test on the Sandbox (CiviCRM 19272) the error I get on the 2nd line is different: "No matching Contact found for (library@xxx.asn.au )" (the contact used in the sandbox was #43 and was the first I could find that had a pledge). However, given the first row is once again imported correctly, and they share the same email address, and "Find Contact" only returns one result for this email address, it seems unlikely the error message is accurate.

Ken:

This issue ( http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-4033 ) is fixed, you can get the patch from: http://fisheye.civicrm.org/changelog/CiviCRM/?cs=19552

You can also test it on http://sandbox.civicrm.org.

thanx

Kurund
