Is this possible to do with civicrm 2.1.4 and joomla 1.5.8

I have prepopulated contacts and linked them to memberships, through uploading a csv file.

Now I want to send an Civimail message to existing members, asking them to update their details and pay membership fees.

I have got as far as contact.ids and checksums, but can't seem to get the joomla path right so that the user can view their own profile.

Does this feature work in joomla - it seems to go ok in drupal from what I can read on the forums.

If anyone out there has any help, it would be much appreciated.

I have installed 2.2 beta in the test environment and it seems to be working well on joom 1.5.8

I just had one more question, if that's ok.

I have managed to insert the right tokens (contact id + checksum)   so that members get sent an email with a link,, from which they open a webpage with their profile details to edit (which I have preloaded from an existing excel spreadsheet). I also want  the membership form on the profile page they are directed to so that they can check/update their details and pay membership (through paypal) all in one process.

This email will be the first contact that the 100+ members have with their new site, so it would be good to keep it all very simple and streamlined.

I can't work out how to put the membership payment options on the same page as the profile editing screen (probably because they are assembled separately through civicontribute).

Any suggestions gratefully accepted.
