Auto Purge Bounces?

Does CiviMail automatically purge addresses from mailing lists that reach a certain number of bounces (similar to how mailman works)? If so, can you set that number anywhere?

purging might be a bit too severe :)

we automatically put email addresses on hold based on the type and severity of the bounce (and it is different for each bounce type). All the values are db driven and are stored in 'civicrm_mailing_bounce_type'

You will need to tweak those threshold's if you want to change the behavior. the email table contains fields to indicate if an address is on hold and when it was put on hold

it would be good to have a civimail search mechanism like the other components where you can search on different parameters (show all subscribers who have bounced multiple times, who have clicked through, etc)...better statistics and such. is anything in the pipeline on civimail for this or shall i submit as an improvement?

This is not in the pipeline, but can and should be done as a custom search.

Wanna contribute a custom search? if so, please file an issue and attach the custom search as a patch
