Fill in Organization custom fields via profile on membership contribution page
February 02, 2009, 10:52:54 am
Hi,

When using a contribution page for membership sign-up with "Allow individuals to contribute and / or signup for membership on behalf of an organization?" ticked, is it possible to fill in custom fields for the Organization via a profile on the contribution page? What appears to happen is that if Organization custom fields are included in the profile, the data entered in those fields is discarded. If Organization Home URL is included, this gets stored in the Individual's home_URL field.

Should this be possible in Civi 2.1.4 ? If so, any tips on getting it working? If not, is it in the pipeline?

Thanks, Dave J

This is not possible in 2.1.4. It is currently not in the pipeline either but would make a great community contribution. Should probably be a database setting for each membership page to allow the admin pick and choose the "org profile" they want to display during a "on behalf signup" and also in the "edit org info" page for the dashboard

HI - just wondering if this had any work done on it. We may need same.

SCENARIO: Company membership has to be 'authorised' and one step is requiring them to check/tick that they have read/signed/posted some documents.

cheers

And might another route to the one Lobo suggests above/below be to be allowed to add custom data fields to what seems to be a 'default' Organization Details profile that displays when 'sign on behalf of an organisation is checked or forced?

The Profile seems to be from fieldset id="for_organization" - is hacking this an option before a more robust solution is available?

There is no default organization profile, it is hard coded :( You can probably hack in custom fields in the php code and in the tpl and most of the code should work (with a bit of tweaking?)

potential project for chris?

reckon it could be - the hack I presume you mean - or should we be looking at what is involved in pulling the 'hard coded' organization 'field set' out, and setting it up as a default Profile?

I'd vote for plan B - e.g. a new org profile that's included with 2.3 distributions and upgrades - and which can then be modified / extended if needed through profile admin.
