CiviMember - Drupal integration with user registration - (new user to Drupal)
February 02, 2009, 06:55:51 pm
I am hoping someone could point me to a specific page or email me offline. I apologize if I am breaking any board rules for asking what is probably a simple question. I am a new Drupal user, former Joomla user, and need to do the following in Drupal with CiviCRM/CiviMember:

1) have a new user click the Create new account (the default link under the default drupal login)
2) be taken to the civimember registration group that I have already setup, put in their personal information and pay. (The payment portion, to my knowledge seems to be setup correctly already and properly is linked in with my PayPal processor. I'm able to successfully test it within the CiviCRM/CiviMember admin area)

I converted my site to a drupal theme and have the default drupal user registration/sign in area (unsure if civimember has a different user registration and sign in that I need to turn on and turn off the drupal default, or if it can be integrated).

I have spent hours searching the documentation and this board but can't seem to find out how to integrate a one-stop sign-up registration that links directly to the registration group to pay. Once they pay, they are then a member and given access to login to the site.

Any guidance, or links to where I can find this specific information would be very much appreciated. I don't think this is a complicated thing to do, but I sure am unable to find a clear cut way to integrate it. Thanks, Jim.

I may be missing your point, but why not forget about the 'create new account' step and just have a link direct to the Contribution page, and require them to set up a Drupal account as part of the sign up process (this is possible but can't point you to a thread but am sure you can search and find it)

That is EXACTLY the information that I needed. Wasn't sure how to do it, but suspected it was as simple as something like you suggested. That helps me narrow my search. Thank you.

Great - in Advanced Settings in the Profile that you use for collecting info on the Join/contribution page you can enable 'create drupal account'.

Am pretty sure others have posted how they have 'forced' this. May be a feature in 2.1 or 2.2 but haven't looked yet.

I just faced the same dilemma. My solution: when I configure my existing Contribution Page that I set up for new members, I'm offered a link address such as http://www.mysite.org/index.php?q=civicrm/contribute/transact&reset=1&id=1. I use that address wherever I want a link to the new member sign-up page.

The option to configure a profile or contribution page with profile so that it REQUIRES any anonymous visitor to create an account was just added for 2.2 (which is currently in beta). You can see the setting here on the sandbox:

http://sandbox.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/uf/group?action=update&id=2&context=group

... under Advanced Settings section of the form.

Thanks for confirming that - knew it had been discussed. Helps out one of the other requests too.
