Problem with civicrm blocks
February 03, 2009, 03:53:40 am
Hi !
I've a recurrent problem with CiviCRM blocks. I'm using Garland Theme inside Drupal 6.9 and CiviCRM 2.2 Alpha 3.
The problem is :

-I go to administer "Drupal" => block and I want to configure one of the CiviCRM block, regardless the block region (Head, right or left column)
-I modifiy the name (using <None> or a new name, or even anything) / or I modify the user acess....
-I save and then I go to Civi Homepage and the Civicrm block, that I've just modified doesn't appear anywhere.

I've already "lost" three of my blocks "Search", "New individual" and "Shortcuts". I didn't find any solution to make them re-appear.
Is it a bug? Need your help !

Thanks  !

Seems to be working fine for me. Not sure about your issue, might be caching ?

Thanks for the answer.
I've already test to empty my browser cache (Firefox 3.0.5) but it didnt' change anything.
Is there a cache included in CiviCRM, or Drupal that I should clean?
Do you have any idea about this?
Thanks

try clearing all the drupal caches. you should find a link on the drupal admin pages (if not, search the drupal forums)

I've just cleaned the drupal cache and my browser cache, once again.
Nothing changed.
I tried to disable the blocks and to re-enable them, but once again nothing changed.
When I enabled them for the first time they were displayed in a good way, and as soon as I've tried to modify one of their parameters they disappear.
I'm quite  ???

Re: Problem with civicrm blocks - Resolved

I finally found what was the problem :

When I configurate my block : there's a parameter called "Page specific visibility settings". There's a text area where you can write where you want to display the block. By default there's "civicrm*". But in the database, (table "blocks", field "pages") the value stored wasn't "civicrm*", but "<p>civicrm*</p>".
I use FCK Editor, and he's enabled for the "Page specific visibility settings" text area. I modified directly the value of the "pages" field in the different records and my blocks re-appeared !

Then I went back and tried to re-configurate one of the CiviCRM block. I didn't modify the text in the "Page specific visibility settings" but once again the block disappear because when I saved the config, the "pages" field was changed in "<p>civicrm*</p>".

Using a plain text editor, the problem is fixed !

Maybe you should take a look on this issue.

I'm using : FCK Editor 6.x-2.0-alpha5 for Drupal 6.9

Thanks for your work.
