Free event but with registration
February 04, 2009, 08:59:44 am
Hello everyone.

I am trying to create a free event with registration on civicrm 2.1.4. But the register button is not showing up on the event info page. I tried on the 2.2 sandbox and it works fine. Is there a way I can do this in 2.1? or is this a bug on my installation? There is no sign-in on our joomla. The registration is for general public.

Thanks

You need to enable Allow Online Registration? in Manage Event Page

eg.
http://sandbox.civicrm.org/civicrm/event/manage?action=update&id=3&reset=1

Go to Online Registration and enable Allow Online Registration check box.  Give the Registration Link Text

it will appear in Event info page

Hi

Yes. As I already stated, it works on the 2.2 sandbox but not on my 2.1.

I don't recall there being any bugs in this functionality in 2.1. Any chance your "Registration Start Date" is set in the future (Configure Event >> Online Registration)?
