Is there a reason that custom data group of the type 'used for pledges' added to a custom profile is not available as a profile on Contribution Pages?

You can add profiles created from the data groups of the type 'contributions', but I am trying to get a report only on the pledged amounts from certain contribution pages. (I am probably in a weird situation where I don't care about the payment side of pledges since someone else collects the pledges for me and everything is reconciled in another system. I only need to send the pledged reports on to a third party to collect.)

This is another issue; let me know if I should move it somewhere:
Is there a way to (either through the code or settings) to modify the pledge frequency or hard-code options into the system?

i.e. - Twice per month (total pledge =2*12months= 24 payments per year) instead of every 2 weeks for 12 months (12 months = 52 weeks = 26 payments per year)
(once again this is probably a specific case for just myself, but I take money from people directly fromevery paycheck and everyone pays weird these days- what happened to once a week?)
