Import images

I have to import some thousands of contacts with images too, so I think to:
1) put al images into a folder
2) save all names of images into db
3) then with views of drupal or php-html-tpl code I'll view images thanks to data stored in db and folder
someone have other ideas about this mission?

CiviCRM does not support importing of images. IMO you should write a script that will upload and add those images to respective contacts.
