clean url does not work w/ drupal

I know this is not a civi issue, it always works on our servers. ie www.example.com/civicrm but at this other host (not to be named uuuhg) it just does not work. www.example.com/?q=civicrm does work

The odd thing is drupal does work with clean urls.
I moved the site to our servers and still this is this problem so I assume it is stuck in civi or drupal cache.
I cleared out the civicrm_domain info.
But still no luck.

Any thoughts....

by the way None could be negotiated is found in the apache error log for say www.example.com/civicrm

got lucky
Options -MultiViews  I added this to my .htaccess from the default drupal and it worked.

I do not think this is common but I think this site was installed on a server (previous to ours) that had a lot of limitations and non-default settings.
Not sure just know every time I work with this other hosts it is +5 hours per job to just do normal work.

Thanks for your solution.
I was having the same issue.
On the same server there are other Drupal(6.19) and CiviCRM(3.2) installations working with clean urls without problem, just one installation didn't.
Your hint to add "Options -MultiViews" to .htaccess was working, but I'm still wondering if there is a solution without changing .htaccess or what was causing the problem only for one installation.

DO NOT feel concerned about changing the default .htaccess files! :D It is necessary to do customizations - Drupal can not guess what is correct for every web server!

That file is a web server configuration file, not Drupal "source code".
