CiviGrant disabled
February 14, 2009, 12:28:44 am
On updating from 2.1 to 2.2 using the update script I need to re-enable civiGrant. (this was the case last upgrade too).

NB I first tried on a copy of the DB that was missing some foreign key constraints (due to using the copy function in phpmyadmin rather than mysqldump). This caused the upgrade to fail when it tried to delete them which seemed odd but it worked fine when I tried again on a better database copy_

Did you reset your config_backend ( or set to NULL) . IN v2.2 by default we don't enable CiviGrant.

No, I didn't do anything to disable it. It was enabled prior to the upgrade (where do you mean by config_backend)

anyone explain why after I enable CiviGrant nothing shows by way of a Tab or a menu item to make use of it? IE it have enabled it, but I am seeing nothing that enables me to use its features. (on 2.2 demo)

Peter - The 'access CiviGrant' permission wasn't enabled from the demo user's role. I've fixed this so you will now see a Grants tab on the contact records and a CiviGrant menu.

Of course - permissions!

Thanks. Not had to look at using CiviGrant before. Exciting!

Strongly concur with suggestions to make it work in both directions in terms of giving and receiving grants.
