Glitches in 2.1.4 install on 6.9
February 14, 2009, 07:55:15 am
Hi there,

A couple of small glitches I encountered and thought it was worth reporting on 2.1.4 install on D6.9.

1)
The installer warned me that I didn't have the 'create temporary tables' privilege but didn't tell me that i needed 'lock tables'.  I then got a LOCK TABLES `civicrm_acl` WRITE;: DB Error: insufficient permissions when I went through the installation.  Maybe a good idea to check before?

2)
I was told that I needed to grant write permissions on drupal's sites/default folder.  That was a bit strange because my site was set up (and settings.php was) in sites/test.example.com/.

When I gave apache write permission, the installation completed successfully, but when I enabled the CiviCRM module, it told me (suprise suprise) that it couldn't find the civicrm.settings.php.  I moved them to the correct directory and everything was then OK, but wonder why it didn't happen like it was meant to.  All is set up on standard debian box.  Happy to replicate and help you debug if you want.

Michael
