Drupal 6.9 Calendar and Events
February 15, 2009, 09:04:53 pm
I’ve been trying to get the Drupal 6.9 Calendar module and iCal (6.x-2.0-rc6) to display and link to CiviCRM 2.1 events via the ical feed, but with no success.  I’ve seen some posts from other people having issues, but no real solution.  Has anyone got this working?

Thanks for any help on this...Dave

Wow, that's really unfortunate.  Any other way to accomplish this with views or ?

Not sure, but we do expose some basic information about civicrm events that you can use in views.

Improved views2 support is part of 2.2 (now in beta):

take a look at this thread over on Drupal.org in relation to the feed element mapper module.
http://drupal.org/node/215979?mode=2&sort=2

It looks like the solution will be to create an event type in Drupal and then import the civicrm ical feed to create nodes of this content type. (similar to what the feed element mapper tutorial on drupaltherapy.com does).

It might be worth someone from the CiviCRM team validating that the approach that KarenS and the people working on this issue over yonder will actually work for CiviCRM - for example does the ical feed from civievent contain any additional fields that would need to be handled in a mapping?

I'll take a look at the raw feed myself to see if it matches up with the discussions over on drupal.org but I can't guarantee when I'll get to it as I am snowed with day job and volunteer association work at iaidq.org.
