Discrepancies in the Search Contact function
February 20, 2009, 01:25:17 pm
I'm brand new here and only have a so-so understanding of the programming end of things in CiviCRM.  I have a great database going for contacts, with over 290 entries.  In the general Search function, if I'm searching for one of our contacts, I'm having issues with business names that begin with initials.  Two examples:  LL Bean and KL Sport.  I have entered these organizations with NO spaces or punctuation in the initials.  In the search field, when I type in "KL", the drop-down list that appears underneath (with suggestions) returns "KL Sport" correctly.  Great. However, when I type "LL" into the same field, the drop down list DOES NOT return LL Bean.  If I type "LL" and THEN click the Search button, it will find LL Bean- but I don't understand why LL Bean does not come up in the drop-down list and KL Sport does.  This is causing some frustration amongst my co-workers  :-\     Any help here on how to fix this is appreciated!

Check:

http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/dashboard?reset=1

I've entered both LL Bean and KL Sport. The ajax widget displays them correctly

For your install, i would use firebug and see whats happening and how it differs from the demo install
