Joomla yes or Joomla no

Is there information that I can find to use civicrm with Joomla. I do not see much. It seem like JOOMLA is an afterthought.

I am trying to use cicicrm (events, members)with Joomla, but I cannot find enough information (instructions) on how to go about it.

Someone please advise.

Sunil

The current limitations in Joomla concern user management and access control.  Not a deal-breaker for me, just a bit of awkwardness.  I believe access control can be resolved with Joomla plug-ins that control who uses specific modules or components.  civiCRM and Joomla can synch usernames, but registration is a little clunky (or maybe I just haven't got my head around the best method).

Sometime soon, Joomla 1.6 will be upgrading Joomla-wide access control and changing it's user management to make it easier to share that with other programs, so I imagine these things will sort themselves out.
Thanks to those who help create and enhance civiCRM!
