Standalone Group Signup Form
February 24, 2009, 09:35:49 am
We have 3 groups.  2 groups are used by new and existing users as subscription options - the users can opt-in when they create or edit their drupal profiles.  This works fine.

The third group is for *anyone* - drupal users or not.  We have created a web form for this group sign-up - this all works fine.

The problem is:

- The 3rd group appears as a choice in the subscription options for drupal users (on their user edit page) - we don't want this there.

I cannot figure out what the right combination of options for the group are.  I cannot get the form to work as standalone AND NOT have it appear on the Drupal user account page.

Thanks,

Dan

IMO this is possible only if you use standalone profile code, and manually remove 3 group.

May be you should try to embed profile in drupal page.

Dan - this is kind of reverse of usual case where you would want to restrict anoymous access to some groups. That said, if you change the Group's Visibility setting for group 3 to User and User Admin I think that group will disappear from the profile injected checkbox set in User Reg / My Account (based on a quick experiment w/ 2.2).
