By what name do your users refer to CiviCRM?
February 24, 2009, 11:49:45 am
I'm just wondering what names people use when referring to CiviCRM.

  • Most of our users just call it "Civi".
  • Some refer to it as "the database" which I don't like. We have other databases, and while CiviCRM is wonderful <gesture>tip hat</gesture> it doesn't do everything, and I like to manage expectations.

What happens in your organisation?

Hi Ken,
We refer to it as CiviCRM. This makes it very clear which database platform we are speaking about.

We abbreviate our organization as HCAC, so we call the application the HCAC Name Database.

The project I'm starting to develop a combined CMS/CRM website/extranet is called Moonlight.
Its intended to shed light on Nightline's data. Plus it'll be done with volunteers, who will be moonlighting  ;D
