Can't add contacts- what does this error mean?
February 24, 2009, 05:10:16 pm
I'm am having trouble adding new contacts. Its an intermittent error, but it happens 9/10 times.

Can anyone help me solve this problem? I'm running a local instance of Drupal 6.9, and I've experienced the same error in both CiviCRM 2.1.4 and 2.2beta. I'm also having problems with 'successful' imports that fail to import data and don't display any error messages on screen, in any logs or in the uploads folder. I'm not sure if these are related.

Troubleshooting and documenting of this type of error could be improved I think - e.g. what characters etc. in the CSV might cause MySQL to not parse the data.

Any help much appreciated,
Regards,
Nick Howlett,

i suspect you have mapping/geocoding turned on. Can you turn it off and see if it fixes the error

if it does, most likely it means that your host is not permitting http connections from your server to outside machines.
