smart groups issue
July 21, 2007, 06:31:31 am
Hi,

I upgraded my site to 1.7 and smartgroups dont work anymore. If I add a custom field (or activity) criteria to the search it ignores the criteria and saves the smart group with more members than the search result shows.

I dont have this problem on a fresh install (1.7 and drupal  5.1)

Any idea what could be going wrong?

Assuming you've got all the updated 1.7 codebase files...you might want to dump the database structure for your upgraded site and your fresh install and do a diff to see what might be different. You could also try follow the procedures at the link below to rebuild the DB schema for your upgraded site.

Can u reproduce the issue on either http://demo.civicrm.org/ or http://sandbox.civicrm.org/

If the latter please file an issue against 1.8

I cant reproduce the issue even on local fresh installs of mine. Its got something to do with the upgrade, but the database schema is the correct.

I think it's got something to do with the fact the base domain has changed from the last version, but I have updated all the settings to see the new domain.

It's only smart groups that dont work, everything else (including advanced searches) work

I also encountered this issue with a fresh install of 1.79xx

Upgrading the codebase to the current version (now 1.7.10272 - thats 1-point-7-point-TEN-272, I guess), deleting my original smart group, and creating a new smart group seems to have fixed the problem.

(ps. Thankfully!)

There were few issues with Smart Group that we fixed in CiviCRM v1.8.

Can you try to replicate your issue on http://demo.civicrm.org/drupal.

thanx
